Baking, gaming, tripping, chatting...

After Christmas we continued to have some fun! I never got to make some english toffee like I wanted and so the day after Christmas Brooklyn and I made our first ever english toffee with Andes mint chocolate coating and it was yummy! Brooklyn is such a great cook! She loves to help Mommy make stuff and always drags a chair into the kitchen to help!  Did I mention she is also good at loading and unloading the silverware from the dishwasher, folding towels...no seriously she does it perfectly..., making her bed and cleaning her room?  Wow I got lucky and got a daughter who likes to clean!

We were lucky and had a free hotel stay at a Marriott hotel (from my work when I was traveling so much) and we had to use it before years end. So we decided to go to Ithaca, NY. Since it wasn't too far and not too close to home haha. We would love to have gone to NYC but we wanted to be safe and stay closer to home since I am due soon. Really we just thought it would be fun to just go stay in a hotel somewhere and swim in the swimming pool which is what Brooklyn wanted to so bad! :)  We had a great time and I enjoyed the hot tub!  Don't worry I didn't stay in it too long for fear I would boil the baby up! We brought a card game to play in the hotel room and also ate at Applebee's using the gift card my parents gave to us for Christmas, THANKS Mom and Dad!  We enjoyed yummy steaks, potatoes, veggies, buffalo wings for an appetizer and yummy dessert!  It was such a fun little get away and we would do it anytime!

Enjoy the pictures I took along the way!

Step one, make the toffee...

Step two, sprinkle the Andes mint chocolate

Step three, spread it with a spatula

Step four, give mom a hug!

Step five, lick the spatula

Step six, Play Candyland!  We have played this game many times! She just loves this game and it was only $5.00! Who knew a kid could love a present so much that costed that much?!

Waiting for our food at Applebees.... Aren't they adorable?

I love this gal!

Ready to take a swim in the pool... She was putting "Emma" to bed.

I am so sly!

I love Matt's face! haha

Learning how to float on her back!

Howdy Grandma and Grandpa Kelsch! She was jumping on the tramp and wearing this hat chatting with her G and G. I thought it was a cute picture to post!
